Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. She has been recognized for her TV and film performances since the early 1980s. Her awards include two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett, who was raised in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born to New York New York, is a well-known actor. Bassett, her sister and their mother moved to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was five. Their father had divorced their mother. While in high school Bassett watched John Steinbeck's drama Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. In 1980, Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She earned a diploma from the Yale School of Drama. She dated Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Bachelor of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast as one of the main roles of Ramonda for the action adventure movie, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
